Roadshow 2022: The potential of using standard cameras might be much higher, meet the Vision system!
Roadshow 2022 was characterized by technological innovations presented to our customers in Košice, Žilina and Brno. In cooperation with the companies like DATALOGIC, SIMAP GROUP, Mitsubishi Electric, PROGLOVE, PointX and PROFYLAX, we prepared interesting lectures again with real product demonstrations. The theme of this year was Innovations in production, logistics and maintenance.
Cameras can do more than you expect
The constant development of technology brings changes here as well, and since the last roadshow we have started to use latest technologies that have become more popular nowadays. As a result, we have introduced two new products to our product portfolio. Systems based on the image recognition using neural networks are reliable partners for achieving safety in the workplace and at the same time a great helper for regular automatic inventories.
The whole process is about training the system, which can learn to accurately recognize objects within two days. With usage of standard cameras, the system can identify an object within a few milliseconds, even under different lighting conditions or different angles.
Automatic inventory in just a few hours
It is possible to ensure, for example, an automatic inventory using drones, which is an alternative to a classic inventory. However, it does not take days, it does not take the working time of employees, but within a few hours, outside of common working hours, drones can perform an automatic inventory in external or internal storage areas completely autonomously. Thanks to the cameras, drones can visually count objects such as boxes, pallets, the volume of material (wood, bulk materials...) even on a daily basis, which makes inventory much easier.
The Vision system can predict
It is possible to ensure higher safety at the workplace, when, for example, we can avoid the risk of forklift collision with other forklifts or employees and send an audio or lightning notification of danger in real time. We can also determine the incorrect storage of goods and evaluate the possibility of the hazard of injury caused by incorrect stored material, alert employees of the risk zone and prevent occupational accidents. Since the system can count objects, it is possible to determine the occupancy of common areas, the occupancy of warehouse positions and thereby minimize unnecessary downtime.
The warehouse helper that saves time and money
When picking goods, we can visually accurately identify the number of pieces, the type of material and check the correctness of picking order. With using the camera, even the solution to manipulation according to the light can be much simpler, cheaper and almost error-free, or with very quick identification of the error. With the help of object inspection, we can also easily identify the number of errors on the production line in real time, already at the first defective casting and thus minimize unnecessary costs. This allows for immediate repair or correction of the production machine.
All operations can be performed with standard cameras, so the solution can be up to ten times cheaper than conventional solutions. We demonstrated this solution on our demoregal, which is a fully functional prototype of the Vision system in combination with the M2L system.
