New Transport Logistics System Installation in China
Last year we’ve made several trips to France, where we’ve successfully deployed transport logistics system called Dock &Yard Management along with a special hardware. Later we’ve successfully deployed this system in a car component facility in China, but this time the whole implementation was done remotely – including installation of hardware made ready by us.
Installation was carried out by our IT and Verification departments. Verification team is comprised of experienced testers and handles product testing. We continually improve and develop our products with state-of-the-art technology on our minds. Verification department consists an integral part of our company and verification teams are hardwired into each and every project team. Verification department makes sure everything is perfect – including direct cooperation with developers during product deployment on-site.
Testers were also tasked to prepare user manuals for our customer ahead of testing. Thorough preparation and several conference calls made sure that the system has been launched successfully. However, its deployment was no easy task and our team had to face unexpected situations. Remote testing and customer support was conducted on a daily basis. Time zone difference made coordination of both teams even more difficult, but we managed to proceed with the project according to plan. We currently have an ongoing similar project in Belgium and we are also preparing for a challenge that takes form of system implementation in North America.
Tester’s role in our company isn’t just some kind of a click fest, the main focus lies on product testing in their demo versions along with product deployment and installation on-site. It oftentimes involves trips to customer facilities or remote customer support. Testers are responsible both for quality of the deployed solution and for training of key users of the system. Our developers enjoy a great deal of freedom during the development process. They can actively shape solutions that meet requirements of our customers with their own thoughts and ideas and have therefore opportunity to leave their mark on the finished product. Developers always stay on top of new technology being introduced in our industry, even though it never stops and marches still on and on. As a result, our solutions always use cutting-edge technology. Team work is coordinated by a project manager. It is a fast-paced job where every new day brings new challenges that test them despite the great deal of freedom they also enjoy in solving challenges to the best of their abilities.
