How to teach gate-keeper all the world's languages?

The organization of transport logistics in the factory is a complicated process and the companies often  face various complications. The most significant risks include manual traffic planning, delayed trucks, the problem of drivers communicating with the gatekeeper or the company staff, the complex process of registering traffic or the wandering of trucks at the company's area. Drivers often speak only their native language, so communication is one of the most common stumbling-block.

Thanks to the automation and  process optimization, the organization of transport logistics can be much easier. Our customized solution helps to eliminate most of the problems and at the same time significantly facilitated the planning and organization of the transport logistics process in the company.

The Dock&Yard system, which we have developed, can remove the language barrier, reduce staff by 20% and reduce unloading and loading time by up to 45%, which is a really significant and noticeable difference.

The software part of the solution ensures the registration of traffic to the time slots, which can guarantees the continuity of traffic at the area of company. The driver is assigned a transport number, so there are no downtimes and traffic jams at the entrance to the company's area upon arrival.

The arriving driver has to choose the language at the multilingual kiosk and then registers with the assigned transport number. After the successful registration he will get access to the Parcel Locker space, which is a set of automatically lockable lockers in which smart devices are stored. The driver is assigned one personalized device for easy communication. Devices charge wirelessly when not in use.

Subsequently, via a communication device, the driver receives a request to enter the area with truck. The sensors at the entrance read the vehicle registration number and the ramp opens automatically. The system navigates the driver around the company area directly to the place of unloading or loading. It could save so much time and the driver does not have to wander and look for where to arrive. During unloading and loading, there might not be any contact with employees at all, as almost all necessary actions can be confirmed by the driver via a communication smart device. Arrivals to individual docks are regulated by traffic lights.

The company employees have the information panel with real time information about the ongoing unloading or loading process in every dock. They are able to operate the ongoing process of unloading and loading goods or confirm individual actions via tablet. The paperless solution saves not only time but also the environment.

After performing all the necessary actions, unloading and loading the goods, the driver will put the smart communication device back to the Parcel Locker at the exit from the area and then leave the factory.

Transport logistics process takes on a new dimension thanks to the Dock&Yard Management System and most of the daily problems that companies face are solved.

The Dock&Yard system, which is part of the transport logistics system, was demonstrated on the Czechoslovak conference Lean Summit, which is one of the most interesting technological conferences. Many companies represent their technological news and innovations, that help to improve and streamline processes in production factories. We were a part of the conference with a presentation of a case study of an unattended transport logistics system.
